Alice In Wonderland Baby Shower Theme

Here?s a fun idea for an Alice in Wonderland themed baby shower! To start with, you will need invitations. There are a several options to choose from. You could shape your invitation like a playing card, a teapot, or even a white rabbit (with a pocket watch, of course)! The invitation should list all of the important party details and stress that guests arrive on time (and not late like the White Rabbit).

Before guests arrive, put a mirror on your front door, or cover it with aluminum foil, to create the illusion of going ?through the looking glass?. This is an easy party to decorate for because the more color and variety you have, the better! Use mismatched plates, cups, utensils, and even chairs around the table.

For table decorations, you can place small items such chess pieces, clocks, watches, plush rabbits, playing cards, and mirrors on the table. A black and white checkered tablecloth will complement all of this nicely. Buy miniature red and white rose bushes for the centerpieces.

If your guests choose, they can come in costume. For those who do not want to get all dressed up, provide some rabbit ears for them to wear! For party food and drink, tea is a must! You could also make a red fruit punch and serve it as the ?Queen of Hearts punch?. Place small notes saying ?Drink Me? on the teapot and some of the teacups.

Cookies baked in the shape of the playing card suites or chess pieces are cute. You can also make finger sandwiches and use these same cookie cutters shapes. Bake miniature cupcakes and attach little notes saying ?Eat Me? on them. A cake in the shape of the Cheshire Cat, or even just the cat?s smile is another fun idea. If your party is outdoors (perhaps in a garden setting), a bubble blowing machine will add a special festive touch.

After enjoying a treat, your guests will want to play some games or complete some activities. One idea is to buy plain white teacups and saucers and let your guests decorate them. These, along with a few specialty teabags, can be their party favors. Other games include pinning the smile on the Cheshire Cat, or even pinning the heart on the Queen, lawn croquet, egg races (don?t let Humpty Dumpty break!), or a trivia game. This should be a combination of Alice in Wonderland trivia as well as trivia about the mom or parents-to-be. Have fun with it, and remember, the stranger the better!
