Communication?.. ? La Belle Epoque

In my time on God?s green earth, I have found myself in situations that could have been avoided provided effective communication techniques were adopted. Unfortunately, emotions make all these wonderful theories seem stupid in the heat of the moment.

Communication is key to every successful relationship, but it can take time for two people to learn to communicate effectively. Typically, as a dating relationship progresses, the need for communicating effectively becomes more significant. A woman often finds that communicating with a man is difficult. There are a few things to keep in mind that can make communicating with your boyfriend/girlfriend ? and others ? easier.

First, recognize that men and women often have different ways of communicating. Women tend to want to explore a range of different feelings and opinions on most matters. Most men prefer for things to be kept simple. Some men do not see the need for communication unless there is a problem that needs to be fixed or an action that needs to be taken. The simple discussion of feelings or opinions is not easy for many men.

In my many chats with the lads at the office, I asked candidly this one guy how his Mrs was doing. His response is what inspired this blog entry actually.

As he showed me her picture, he said the five best words I have ever heard to describe a relationship that is working ? at least from a man?s perspective, ?She makes every day better.?

It doesn?t get any simpler than that. I?ve heard men talk about relationships and girlfriends, what they like and don?t like, what they want and don?t want, what drives them nuts, and even what hurts them. But, I?ve never heard it put better than those five words. I was in absolute awe as I now started picking his brain. I was genuinely intrigued and needed to find out his secret. And boy did I find out. He laid it down and then I further deciphered it all in a list of things a woman should stick to. Almost a what-not-to-do-list for women who want to put an end to a relationship?. I focused on the female perspective because it was a guy to guy chat. Soweeeeee?.
#1 ? Don?t learn what emotional intimacy is.

Forget what psychologist Malini Shah says, ?Emotional intimacy is a feeling of close personal association and belonging. It?s a familiar connect formed through shared knowledge of each other and experience.? <?- Google?d this ? That would mean taking the time to find a man with whom you can build trust and be yourself. Worst of all it would mean not just accepting him for who he is, but celebrating who he is.

#2 ? Don?t respect him.

Even if he deserves your respect, do not, under any circumstances show him the kind of respect?you?want and need. Don?t value him. Don?t listen. Don?t consider his priorities or concerns. Make sure he feels your life would be much better if he weren?t in it. On the other hand, if he truly doesn?t deserve your respect, leave him. Leave him now. And if he doesn?t respect you then he doesn?t deserve yours. Again, leave.

#3 ? Don?t like him.

Sure, you love him, but do you?like?him? Never forget he?s probably closer to you than anyone else in his life so it?s your responsibility to make sure he doesn?t get out of line. If you want to make sure he?s unhappy and dwindling away inside, show him you don?t?like?him.

#4 ? Complain about him.

Believe it or not (and lots of men will get mad at me for revealing this to you) most of us look to the women in our lives, or the woman closest to us, to determine how we feel about ourselves. Make sure he knows you are keeping score against him by openly expecting him to screw up. Tell all your friends what a loser he is and never, ever genuinely praise him.

#5 ? Judge him.

If you want him to stop being open and honest, or if you just want him to start hiding things from you, make sure you judge him negatively every chance you get. If you can?t find anything negative that is even remotely valid, just make something up. Do anything to keep him on the defensive. Remember, every day brings new opportunities to find new faults in him.

#6 ? Don?t trust him.

He?s a guy right?Lol? ??don?t trust him?? no matter how trustworthy, honest, reliable or loyal he actually proves himself to be. Of course, if he truly can?t or shouldn?t be trusted, leave the jerk. No excuses. You will never have emotional intimacy if there is no chance of mutual trust.

#7 ? Blame him.

If you got a speeding ticket, blame him. If your last boyfriend treated you badly, blame him. If you, blame him. Take all your anger, frustration, fears and insecurities and place them squarely on the doorstep of his life. Whatever negative feelings or experiences you are having, he should be punished for it.

#8 ? Stay angry.

He?s a guy. He must have done something wrong. Even if you don?t know what it is, it still pisses you off. You don?t need to know exactly when or what he did whatever it is, he definitely did it. Save time and get angry now. Then, stay angry . . . because there?s no end to the ways he?s messed up with . . . something. Hell hath no fury like woman scorned or not?

#9 ? Don?t be reliable.

Make sure he knows that you are not there for him no matter how badly he may need you. That way he will know never to rely on you for anything. If you are the one person he wants to call when something really bad, or really good, happens don?t be available or interested.

#10 ? Don?t get help.

You?ve been through a lot, a lot of pain, a lot that isn?t fair, a lot of horrible stuff that has wounded you. Sometimes you feel broken. Whatever you do, don?t try to effectively heal your wounds in any way. Don?t go to therapy. Don?t apply what you?ve learned in self-help books( No like really, DONT). Don?t explore faith our spirituality. Don?t ever look back at the injustices done to you or the wrong choices you?ve made and deal with them. Do whatever you can to simply mask the pain or push it down.

#11 ? Don?t take responsibility.

Never apologize. Never ever admit that something you have done may have hurt him. Just live as though you are?incapable?of hurting him, no matter how badly you do. Don?t forget, this relationship is about you and healing your pain. His is irrelevant.

So there you have it? 11 steps to effectively ruin your man and relationship.?However, if you are not someone who follows the latest trends then just do the opposite of all this. Find a man who wants to make your every day better and do the same for him.

This is probably the most fun I have had blogging in a while.. Thank you and happy communicating.

Essential Chimney Cleaning Tools and Supplies

Author (KarenLamansky). Submitted on Thu, 30 Aug 2012

Whether you are a professional or an enthusiastic homeowner hoping to clean your own chimney, there are some essential supplies you'll need to get down into that chimney pipe and scrub it clean of creosote, tar, and other combustion byproducts that not only pose a danger, but which prevent your chimney from operating as efficiently as it could. Chimney brushes and rods are just a couple of the items you'll need; let's take a closer look at some top chimney cleaning tools and supplies.

??????????????????

Cleaning Chimney Pipe for Homeowners

Cleaning and maintaining chimney pipe is not rocket science; however, it's often not as easy as the experts make it look. To begin with, you're going to need to know what kind of liner your chimney has, and you will want to select the right chimney brushes and rods to get the job done. Some are made from wire, and others are fabricated from acrylic. Some expand as they are turned, while others feature flexible handles that allow for cleaning pipe bends and tight spaces.?

Before you decide to clean your own chimney pipe, you should talk to an expert and at minimum have a chimney inspection conducted; this will ensure you are getting the right tools, and it will ensure that you are starting out with a chimney that is in good condition. If any sections of chimney pipe need to be replaced, or if a new chimney liner needs to be installed, the inspector will be able to make specific recommendations that will help you to keep your chimney working safely and efficiently.

????????????????????

Chimney Pipe and Chimney Rods and Brushes for Professionals
?
It might surprise you to find out that a profession which looks so basic and simple from the surface enjoys new technology that changes just as quickly as the technology in many other areas does. The newest chimney rods and brushes are made from space-age materials that are designed to make your job a whole lot faster and easier. Products from top manufacturers like A.W. Perkins, ProKleen, and Viper are innovative, and many are available as complete kits with attachments for cleaning chimneys as well as dryer vents and other vent spaces.?

Chimney pipe is now available online; that means no more waiting in line at the hardware store when you could be out taking care of business. Whether you need galvanized vent connectors, black single or double wall stove pipe sections, thimbles, heat protectors, or Class A chimney products, you can have them delivered straight to you with zero fuss. Don't forget to add rug runners and other floor protection to help keep your customers feeling happy and satisfied.?

????????????????????????

A number of other tools are also available; hole saw bits and other saw blades, tin snips and other cutters, crimps, and other essentials can be found online. So, whether you need chimney rods and brushes, spare chimney pipe to keep on hand for a customer emergency, or any other chimney cleaning tools or supplies, check out the selection available online. You'll save time and money while you're at it.

Charles Barker Automotive to buy Phillips dealerships ...

Charles Barker Automotive of Virginia Beach announced Wednesday that the company has agreed to acquire Phillips Mercedes-Benz and Phillips Land Rover, also of Virginia Beach. The deal will be completed pending manufacturer approval, which is expected within 60 days. The price was not disclosed.

The two brands will remain at the same location on Virginia Beach Boulevard and become part of Charles Barker Automotive's luxury automotive portfolio, which includes Lexus and Infiniti.

Phillips Automotive President David Phillips would not comment on the sale.

"David called me," Charles Barker said. "His dad's 82 years old, and I think he was looking for an exit strategy."

Barker said he started talking with Phillips in June. The agreement was signed Friday.

"I think it's wonderful for Charlie," said Josh Darden Jr., former owner of Colonial Chevrolet and Barker's business partner for 10 years. "It gives him two of the prime brands in the automotive business in Lexus and Mercedes-Benz."

Barker is planning to upgrade both dealerships.

"Typically, when there's a change in ownership, the manufacturer will demand a number of changes that they couldn't get before," Darden said.

Of 356 Mercedes-Benz dealers nationwide, more than 85 percent have renovated their stores, including Phillips' closest competitor, Tysinger Mercedes-Benz in Hampton. That company's president, Mark Tysinger, noted that 25 percent of his dealership's Mercedes-Benz sales come from the south side.

    That could change.

"We don't go down easy," Barker said. "We're going to put the same culture in place that we're known for."

With the sale, the Phillips name will disappear from the Hampton Roads automotive market.

The Phillips name first appeared when company CEO Tench Phillips established a used car business in 1956 with his brother, Conoly. The brothers gained their first new car franchise, Rambler, in 1960, followed by Oldsmobile, Lincoln Mercury and Volvo. Phillips acquired Mercedes-Benz in 1972 and Land Rover in 1991. All have been closed or sold.

How To Gain Self Esteem To Alter Your Life In A Positive Way

How to gain self esteem is something that thousands of people worldwide are attempting to do. Not everyone understands how to achieve this goal to easily alter your life in a very positive way.

It is very important that you take time today to stop and learn about some of the most effective ways for increasing your self esteem, no matter how young or old you are. The following are the ways that thousands of people everywhere have used to help them build their own self esteem.

    1. Know who you are - Before you can effectively increase your self esteem, you have to take time to really get to know yourself. If you don't understand yourself, then others won't be able to relate or identify with you because you can't even relate or identify with yourself.

You have to really get to know you and this includes learning about your strengths and weaknesses. Make a list of what you consider your strengths and weaknesses and then ask a few friends and family members to do the same.

This will help you find out how others close to you view you compared to how you view yourself. Majority of the time you will find that your opinion of yourself is much lower than other people's opinions are about you.

That can benefit you also because it makes you realize that you are a good person and there are many things about you that you should like because others around you do. This is a really big step to take in building your self esteem.

Also, you will learn about areas about yourself that you need to work on to improve so you can become a better and more self confident person.

    2. Surround yourself with positive people - One of the biggest things that causes low self esteem is negative thinking, whether it is your own negative thoughts or the thoughts of the people around you. It is imperative that you surround yourself with positive thinking people with high self esteem.

This is going to help you really begin to see yourself in a much more positive light. That will make you realize that you are a person that should feel confident about themselves because you are a good person.

These are only a very small number of the effective ways you can use to build your own self esteem. With this information in mind about how to gain self esteem, you are now ready to begin this positive journey for yourself so you become a more confident and happier person as soon as possible.

Brent crude edges up toward $113, Bernanke speech eyed

SINGAPORE (Reuters) - Brent crude edged up toward $113 a barrel on Thursday ahead of a meeting of central bankers later this week that will be scoured for clues on measures to boost global economic growth, while a potential strike by Norwegian oil workers also supported prices.

Brent dipped earlier in the day as oil facilities in the Gulf of Mexico were largely spared storm damage.

U.S. crude futures fell as a surprise build in inventory in the world's top oil consumer and a possible release of strategic oil stocks weighed on prices.

Brent crude for October delivery rose 32 cents to $112.86 a barrel by 0727 GMT. U.S. crude slipped for a second session, down 33 cents to $95.16.

Investors are now waiting to see whether U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke will give any hint about further measures to support growth at the world's largest economy in a speech to fellow central bankers on Friday.

They are also eyeing more details from the European Central Bank on proposed bond purchases to tackle the region's debt crisis.

"If they are going to announce concrete ideas to support those countries in the euro zone it will be supportive for the euro and Brent crude," said Yusuke Seta, a commodities sales manager at Newedge Japan.

Technical charts showed that Brent is supported at $111.50 a barrel, the 200-day moving average, he said.

"The Fed is likely to sustain its rhetoric to support the economy for as long as it can," Deutsche Bank analysts said in a note. Chances of more stimulus measures are slim as the U.S. presidential elections draw closer, they said.

Investors are also keeping an eye on a possible strike by Norway's oil service workers that could disrupt supply from the world's eighth largest exporter.

This could be the workers' second strike in just over a month after they caused a partial shutdown of the country's oil and gas industry.

    LITTLE IMPACT FROM ISAAC

In the United States, crude inventories unexpectedly rose last week while Hurricane Isaac, which was downgraded to a tropical storm, did not cause any discernible damage to refineries or offshore oil and gas platforms.

"We don't see any substantial impact from this hurricane so the risk premium has been removed," Newedge's Seta said.

U.S. crude oil inventories rose 3.78 million barrels in the week to August 24, the Energy Information Administration said on Wednesday, against expectations of a 1.5 million-barrel fall.

Talks that consuming nations may release strategic oil reserves have also capped oil prices.

The White House reiterated on Wednesday that the option of releasing oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve remained on the table but it had no announcements to make.

Just a day earlier, the Group of Seven finance ministers expressed concerns over high oil prices and said they stood ready to call on the International Energy Agency to ensure the market is well supplied.

No. 1 Azarenka posts another easy win at US Open

NEW YORK (AP) ? Victoria Azarenka looks quite comfortable so far on the hard courts at Flushing Meadows.

She's the world's top-ranked player and the Australian Open champ, but Azarenka has never advanced past the fourth round at the U.S. Open.

No hint of her past struggles in her first two matches this year, though. Azarenka beat qualifier Kirsten Flipkens 6-2, 6-2 in 65 minutes in the second round Wednesday.

"I don't feel like I have to prove something," Azarenka said.

She hasn't made it beyond the third round as a top-10 seed in each of the last three years. In 2010, she collapsed on court after hitting her head before her second-round match. Last year, seeded fourth, she had the bad luck of drawing 28th-seeded Serena Williams in the third.

"The next match is going to be the usual match for me. I don't have anything that, you know, it's the third round or I have to win that I didn't the last two years," Azarenka said.

So far in 2012, she's lost just five games through her first two matches. Next up is 28th-seeded Zheng Jie of China, who beat Magdalena Rybarikova 6-3, 6-1.

It was another quick, predictable result in a tournament with few upsets or even nail-biters yet.

David Ferrer opened his tournament with a result befitting a top-four seed. Ranked fifth, Ferrer moved up a spot because fellow Spaniard Rafael Nadal is out with knee problems. Ferrer beat 34th-ranked Kevin Anderson of South Africa 6-4, 6-2, 7-6 (3).

It was potentially a tough first-round matchup for Ferrer: Anderson made the third round at Flushing Meadows each of the last two years. But Ferrer was in control throughout, facing just three break points ? all in the third set ? and saving all of them.

"It was not easy match, no, with Anderson," Ferrer said. "He's a really good player. He's very strong first and second serve. I'm happy."

One surprise Wednesday: American wild card Mallory Burdette is through to the third round in her Grand Slam debut.

The 252nd-ranked Stanford All-American beat No. 69 Lucie Hradecka 6-2, 6-4. A 21-year-old from Georgia, Burdette was this year's NCAA singles runner-up to teammate Nicole Gibbs.

She figured that loss cost her the only chance of making the Open, but she got in as the American woman who earned the most points on the USTA Pro Circuit this summer. Now her next opponent could be Maria Sharapova.

"To end up here at the US Open was a huge surprise," she said. "I never expected that at the beginning of the summer."

In other women's second-round matches, 15th-seeded Lucie Safarova beat Aleksandra Wozniak 6-3, 4-6, 6-2, and 19th-seeded Nadia Petrova defeated Simona Halep 6-1, 6-1.

Author Events and Public Speaking ? Annie Cardi

    August 29, 2012 ?

    Confession: I hate public speaking.

The few readings I?ve done have been preceded by me telling my husband that fiction writers shouldn?t be expected to talk in front of other people, and that public speaking is a bizarre form of hazing. Nothing bad has happened?usually things go well?but they still make me nervous.

For the next one, I?m definitely going to reread Cynthia Leitich Smith?s post about how to handle public speaking events and potential problems like hecklers, not having enough time, and small turnout. Lots of really helpful advice and great anecdotes. I especially like her suggestion for how to politely respond to awkward or obnoxious questions.

Also, something very important to keep in mind about all kinds of author events:

?Say thank you, no matter what. The vast majority of children?s-YA book event planners are volunteers and among the most formidable champions of your field.?

Public speaking can be overwhelming, but it?s really helpful to keep in mind that the people planning and attending the events love these books. They?re not out to get you or make you feel awkward. They want to listen to you speak because you make something they love. And then you get to talk to them, too, and engage with them about their own reading and writing experiences. How cool is that?

Climateer Investing: "Dick Bove: Ignore Fiscal Cliff, Buy Stocks"

I'm not sure "ignore" is the term to use.
Perhaps "don't be blinded by" or "assign a lower weighting to".
    Not "ignore".
    From CNBC:

Investors appear unwilling to make big bets in either direction ahead of a hotly anticipated meeting of central bankers at Jackson Hole, Wyoming, on Friday.

Stocks have rallied in recent weeks on growing expectations for a third round of quantitative easing from the Fed, as well as possible action from the European Central Bank.

News from Jackson Hole could determine whether the summer rally that drove the S&P to four-year highs is sustainable or not.

According to widely followed bank analyst Dick Bove of Rochedale Securities if history is any indication, the Fed will make a move.

"The Fed provides seasonal easing this time of year," said Bove on CNBC's Kudlow & Company. "And they do it because of the holidays."...MORE

Well he's outed himself as a calendar freak.

Back when Eastern banks loaned money to their Midwestern country cousins who in turn lent it out to farmers until the autumn harvest, there was indeed a seasonal flow of funds.
    These days not so much.
    April 15th excepted.

Because our readers are intelligent, funny and good looking I won't belabor the point but must at least state it:
Any seasonality will disappear as more and more investors make their purchases earlier and earlier.

Anomalies do exist and some persist for years but this is simply because markets are both complex and chaotic systems. If there are excess returns it is simply because we haven't, for whatever reason, quantified the risks.
As far as I know the anomalies can't be arbitraged away so to speak of arbs in this context is nonsensical.
The best you can do is some variation of "Time Arbitrage" which isn't really an arb but is a real tool to be aware of.
For more on anomalies see CXO Advisory's search results for "Anomalies" should be a good start for anyone interested.

A new look at proteins in living cells

    Wednesday, August 29, 2012

Proteins adorning the surfaces of human cells perform an array of essential functions, including cell signaling, communication and the transport of vital substances into and out of cells. They are critical targets for drug delivery and many proteins are now being identified as disease biomarkers ? early warning beacons announcing the pre-symptomatic presence of cancers and other diseases.

While study of the binding properties of membrane proteins is essential, detailed analysis of these complex entities is tricky. Now, Nongjian (NJ) Tao, Professor of Electrical Engineering, and director of the Center for Bioelectronics and Biosensors at Arizona State University's Biodesign Institute has devised a new technique for examining the binding kinetics of membrane proteins.

"This is a very important but very difficult problem to solve," Tao notes. "We demonstrate a new method of approaching the issue, which provides a quantitative analysis of protein interactions on the surface of a cell."

The technique ? known as SPR microscopy ? holds the potential to simplify the study of membrane proteins, thereby streamlining the development of new drugs, aiding the identification of diagnostic biomarkers and improving the understanding of cell-pathogen interactions.

The group's results appear in this week's advanced online issue of the journal Nature Chemistry.

Typically, proteins attached to or embedded in the cell membrane's lipid bilayer are either tagged with fluorescent markers or extracted from their locations, purified and immobilized on a glass surface in protein microarrays. These efforts may not accurately reflect native configuration and function.

Membrane proteins are complex structures whose subtle performance is often related to alterations in conformation and the particular binding kinetics at work. Existing techniques using florescent markers have been applied to pinpoint binding events, but these only permit the visualization of the protein before and after binding, omitting the dynamic processes evolving over time. Further, the use of fluorescent labels to tag protein molecules can interfere with the processes researchers hope to observe.

Alternately, proteins are extracted, purified and affixed to microarray slides ? a labor-intensive process that removes proteins from their native environment, potentially affecting the shapes they naturally assume in situ and/or altering protein function.

In the current study, a label-free imaging technique is applied in situ to membrane proteins, which are visualized using a property known as surface plasmon resonance. This effect occurs when polarized light strikes the surface of a glass slide coated with a thin metallic film of gold. Under proper conditions of wavelength, polarization and incident angle, free electrons in the metal film absorb incident photons, converting them into plasmon waves, which propagate much like waves in water.

When nanoscale phenomena, including membrane proteins, interact and disrupt plasmon waves, they cause a measurable change in light reflectivity, which the new microscopy method converts into an image. (Figure 1a illustrates the basic setup of this technique.)

Surface plasmon resonance had already been applied to extracted proteins to study binding kinetics, though Tao explains that many steps are required and proteins may lose their proper conformational characteristics. This is particularly true for proteins normally embedded in a cell membrane's lipid matrix.

Another important consideration for the study of membrane proteins is the fact that that they arrange themselves heterogeneously across membrane surfaces and modify their distribution during various cellular activities. This behavior is particularly important during a process known as chemotaxis, when cells direct their movements under the influence of chemicals in the surrounding environment. For this reason, a tool allowing for both spatial and temporal study of membrane protein distribution in real time is highly desirable.

Tao's method uses surface plasmon resonance to provide high-resolution spatial and temporal information, and also allows for simultaneous optical and fluorescence observation of the sample, combining the advantages of both label-based and label-free methods.

High spatial resolution proved particularly useful for observing the ways polarized membrane proteins (bearing hydrophobic and hydrophilic regions) rearrange themselves, assisting cell migration directed by surrounding chemicals. The phenomenon also plays an important role during immune recognition. Using SPR microscopy, the spatial distribution of membrane proteins in single cells during chemotaxis could be mapped in detail for the first time, using a chemoattractant to induce cell migration.

Cells for study are cultured directly on a gold-coated slide, which can be subjected to simultaneous bright-field, florescent and SPR imaging. A liquid containing binding ligands is then applied over cells and the binding events with cell surface proteins monitored with SPR.

The technique permits millisecond resolution of temporal events and sub-micron scale analysis of spatial distribution. (See Figure 1b). In the current study, the method examined the binding of membrane glycoproteins with lectin ligands, the spatial distribution of membrane receptor molecules and membrane protein polarization and redistribution events.

The versatility of the new method, allowing for simultaneous imaging in optical, fluorescent and SPR modes, promises to significantly expand the study of membrane proteins in their native state, improving the understanding of protein binding kinetics and speeding the development of drugs targeting membrane proteins.

Tao stresses that such techniques ? by more closely approximating in vivo conditions ? provide a valuable window into biological processes relevant to health and disease: "Cells are different from tissues which are different from human beings, but at least now we can move from a system on the surface of a glass slide to an actual cell surface."

Philippines business process outsourcing activities | Tempo - News ...

Manila, Philippines ? THE report that the United States has rejected an anti-outsourcing bill comes as a welcome development for the Philippine business process outsourcing (BPO) industry. It is a win-win proposition for both Philippine and American companies. Outsourcing business services to the Philippines helps make American companies more competitive and profitable, says the Business Process Association of the Philippines (BPAP), the umbrella association for the information technology (IT)-BPO, serving as one-stop information and advocacy gateway for the industry.

Citing studies, BPAP said ?outsourcing has little impact on job losses; instead, outsourcing can free up resources to create more jobs at home.? A study of the hiring practices of 2,500 US multinationals showed that for every job outsourced, nearly two new jobs are created in the US.

The IT-BPO industry in the Philippines has had robust growth; it recorded $11 billion investments and increased 638,000 jobs in 2011, on track to meet its fiveyear target of generating $25 billion revenues by 2016. This year, the goal is to produce 126,000 new jobs and generate $2 billion in extra revenue.

The Philippines holds a major portion of global outsourcing market, due to the English proficiency of Filipinos. Call centers in the Philippines count among its clients several giant multinationals. Pharmaceutical firms outsource their medical transcriptions in the country. The government offers tax incentives to BPO firms, including value-added tax and income tax exemption.

We wish the Officials of the Philippines Government, headed by President Benigno S. Aquino III and Vice President Jejomar C. Binay, Department of Science and Technology Secretary Mario D. Montejo, Department of Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda D. Baldoz, and Business Processing Association of the Philippines Chief Executive Officer Benedict C. Hernandez, all the best and success in all their endeavors. CONGRATULATIONS AND MABUHAY!

Tips for Writing Profit-Pulling eBooks | Internet Affiliate Marketing

Writing your own eBook doesn?t have to be super difficult but for people who haven?t done it before, the process can be pretty confusing. When we write about composing and publishing eBooks of your own you need to understand that this process is not the same as the process of publishing a traditional book. Today anybody who wants to be an author can write an eBook and then sell it over the internet. And the best part about it is that you don?t incur any costs when it comes to publishing and distributing your eBook, which is the beauty of it.

First, it is important to determine the topic you want to write about. Starting to write an eBook is not that complex. But, it could become a lot less difficult if you are familiar with the topic you are choosing. You need to focus on being different than the others when expressing your thoughts, ideas, opinions, etc. The World Wide Web is immense. In order to stick out of the crowd, your readers have to locate something fresh in your eBook. When you know the exact topic you?re writing about, you?ll be able to write clearly, in a tone that your readers identify with. Besides that, it won?t be a fun experience for you if you start writing about a topic you don?t have much knowledge about. So once you pick out a subject, the next step is become knowledgeable on it. Your eBook should be broken up into short easily absorbable chapters. Use shorter paragraphs so that you have a fair amount of white space. The reason for this sort of format is that people who usually buy eBooks online don?t usually enjoy reading through huge blocks of unbroken text because doing so can be hard on the eyes. Make sure your eBook contains lots of quick easy to read paragraphs and subheadings so that your book is easily scanned.

Last, do not make the introduction of your eBook long like you would in a general book. Keep it short and to the point. Your main intention is to give your readers a specific introduction. Let them know what you intend to do with your eBook. It is all about giving your readers a piece of what they are going to read. Since people will be online, they don?t want to waste time on the computer waiting to see what is next.

In summary, from the above article it becomes absolutely clear that in order to write a top-notch eBook, you need to be sure about more than one thing.

Your ebook is a reflection of your overall brand image, so if it?s written poorly or presented unprofessionally, this will damage your sales. So if you want to achieve long term success with your eBook publishing business then you need to be aware of the basics of laying a strong foundation.

What is Scuba Diving? | A Tribe Called K2 Buhl-oog!

Welcome to the Tribe K2! If you're new here, go on and subscribe to our RSS feed. Thanks for visiting! and oh by the way. . .YOU ROCK!

    What is Scuba Diving?

Scuba Diving is one of the fastest growing industries that attracts millions of people every year. What really brings all divers everyday to enjoy these pass time is the adventure, feeling of exploration and the variety of colorful corals and other marine organisms.

We started diving a long time ago. The word diving is related to swimming underwater, and the word scuba is an abbreviation for ?self-contained underwater breathing apparatus? and it has become acceptable to refer to scuba as ?equipment? or ?apparatus?. So, we understand the word Scuba Diving as swimming underwater with special equipment.

A lot of people think, that the gas divers breathe while scuba diving is oxygen. Although the human body needs oxygen to survive, under pressure oxygen can be toxic. So, the gas divers use from the tank is compressed normal air. Air is composed of 78.084% of nitrogen, 20.946% of oxygen and 1% of other gases that have little or no effect when breathing compressed air.

Nitrogen under high pressure can temporally effect our nervous system and interfere with signal transmissions, causing at greater depths (30 to 40 meters/100 to 133 feet or more) the condition known as nitrogen narcosis, which has similar effects as being under the influence of alcohol ( loss of decision-making ability, loss of focus, impaired judgment, multi tasking and coordination).

The most straightforward way to avoid nitrogen narcosis is for a diver to limit the depth of dives. If narcosis does occur, the effects disappear almost immediately upon ascending to a shallower depth.

In addition to its narcotic effects, nitrogen also brings another issue. Under pressure nitrogen dissolves into body tissues and starts to accumulate.

This need to be kept in limits to avoid nitrogen from coming from answer plus forming bubbles inside the body, well-known as ?decompression sickness? or ?the bends?- whenever all stress produced by the nitrogen is introduced at the surface.

To avoid the bends divers must minimize the water pressure slowly on the body at the end of the each dive. This will allow the gases trapped in the bloodstream to gradually break solution and leave the body. This is done by ascending slowly and making safety stops or decompression stops using dive computers or decompression tables for guidance.

As you can see while scuba diving, divers are limited in time and depth due to the nitrogen in the air. Today thanks to new technology we have managed to extend our limits. For those divers that exceed 40 meters/133 feet and for divers who need to spend a lot of time under water, a different mixture of gases, training and equipment are required.

The depth limit for recreational diving is between 30 to 40 meters/100 to 133 feet, but it also depends on the training and the gases used while underwater. Nuno Gomes (South Africa) currently holds the world record for the deepest dive using scuba diving equipment. The dive of 318 meters / 1044 feet beat the previous record set by the late John Bennet of 308 meters /1016 feet (confirmed). The total dive time was 12 hours and 20 minutes, while the descent took 14 minutes. French diver Pascal Bernab? claims to have dived to 1,083 feet (330 m) in July, 2005 (unconfirmed). The above records were set using ?recreational? SCUBA. Commercial divers can go to depths greater than 500 meters / 1650 feet using specialized commercial and military diving equipment and support systems.

What is important to remember that being underwater has limits and risks that professional divers are willing to take. And remember that recreational scuba diving is for fun. Dives between 5 to 20 meters/ 16 to 66 feet can show you the wonderful world that was once explored by Cousteau. These depths have the advantage that provides divers with better light, colors and marine life. Also in shallow dives you will breathe less air from the tank, making your dive longer and safer.

    Keep it safe.
