Small budget, yet great fun! Frankly speaking, this didn't seem like anything special to me when I first saw the trailer, but if its anything this ascertains, it's to never judge a movie based solely on a two-minute preview. And also that you don't require humungous sums of money to make a first-rate action-comedy. Nick Frost is always a riot, but the yet-to-be-famous youths give excellent efforts as well. Now I wouldn't say the aliens look particularily realistic, but they're quite an original creation no doubt, and do serve their purpose in the story. One unfortunate coincidence about the film though, is that I can't help but draw my thoughts towards the London riots. Especially with a title like "Attack the Block". Despite those negative associations, however, I was still able to enjoy this massively entertaining sci-fi romp. Loaded with excitement and relentless action, it has now blasted its way to a place among my favourite movies of the year.
