Parents, administrators, and district staff members attended, but the one thing missing was teachers.
Everyone wrote down things they craved from the district.
Some items were smaller class sizes, better technology, more challenging classes, and more college and career preparation.
Aron Boesl, a parent of three students, says better schools bring more development and businesses to the community.
"If we can really come together as a community with a vision for excellence and education, I think it can attract business. It'll attract a lot of energy into our community and bring us forward," he said.
Many in attendance agree, and want their students to be able to find jobs in Coos Bay.
