Banking and Finance
First Community Bank in January hired April Hines as chief financial officer and Jonathan Graves as vice president and commercial loan officer. Ms. Hines began her more than 20-year career in financial services with Deloitte & Touche. She went on to positions at Wells Fargo, Chiron Corp./Novartis and Bank of the Orient, where she served as controller and first vice president of finance and interim chief financial officer. She also operated Hines Consulting for eight years.
Mr. Graves is a Santa Rosa native and has a finance degree from Sonoma State University. He most recently managed small-business lending in the Sonoma?Marin area for Circle Bank. Prior to that, he served in the lending departments of U.S. Bank and Westamerica Bank in Sonoma County.
Business Organizations
Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce?s board of directors elected Rolf Nelson, senior vice president of Exchange Bank, as 2013 chairman-elect. He has served on both the chamber?s board and executive committee for a number of years, chairing divisions such as Leadership Santa Rosa and the Advocacy Council, as well as serving on the membership, special events and ambassadors committees. The board also announced that Nicole Arnone of Cipolla Financial & Insurance Services will serve on the its board. She previously served on the chamber?s executive committee in 2012, when she was chair of the Santa Rosa Young Professionals Network?s advisory board.
Government
Brent Ainsworth, editor of the Novato Patch community news website and a former Marin Independent Journal reporter and editor, will join the county of Marin as public information officer. Over the past two years, he developed Novato Patch into one of the leading local iterations nationwide of the AOL-owned news organization. Prior to that, he worked in sports, features and news for the Journal from 1996 to 2010. The county has not had a public information officer since 2005, when the position was eliminated due to budget constraints.
Nonprofits
To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation,?a volunteer-based organization whose goal is to ensure that no one faces breast cancer alone, appointed Jeanne Capurro the new president of its board of directors, and?Rebecca Spencer?and?Gerard Bourguignon, Ph.D., as new board members. Ms. Capurro joined the?organization in 1997 after attending the second annual Stepping Out To Celebrate Life fundraiser. She served as recording secretary until 2000,when she joined the board of directors. She has also chaired the silent-auction committee and has been a part of the Stepping Out Executive Committee. Ms. Spencer, a new board member,?became involved with To Celebrate Life in 2009 as a model in the Stepping Out fundraiser. She will be working on communications for To Celebrate Life and brings more than 30 years of sales, marketing and fundraising experience to her position. Mr. Bourguignon became involved with To Celebrate Life in 2010 as a Stepping Out model. He volunteered for the 2011 Tee It Up, was on the 2012 planning committee and was on the 2012 Stepping Out model committee. Until his diagnosis, he was unaware that men, too, could get breast cancer.
Residential Real Estate
W Property Management hired Donna Nordby as North Bay director of management and leasing. In her role, she will also work closely with investors and owners to manage single family, mixed use and commercial communities.
Luann Scally joined 5th Street Financial in July as the sales manager as well as a mortgage loan office. She brings many years of mortgage lending experience to 5th Street Financial. Her experience has ranged from first-time homebuyers, investment buyers as well as move-up buyers. She has also spent a great deal of her career working with local builders on new-home subdivisions.
Joe Scaramella joined Santa Rosa-based 5th Street Financial and W Real Estate as business development officer. He has 29 years of local banking experience having been with Exchange Bank and Wells Fargo and was most recently vice president and business development officer for Bank of Marin?s Santa Rosa Office.
Wine
Cline Cellars and Jacuzzi Family Vineyards hired Robert Hawk as regional manager for the Great Lakes territory. Mr. Hawk succeeds Keith Morris in the role, who was recently promoted to vice president, national sales manager. Mr. Hawk will oversee sales and implement marketing initiatives in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He has spent over 15 years in the wine business and joins Sonoma-based Cline Cellars and Jacuzzi Family Vineyards from Wine Trends, Inc. For the past 5 years, he has served as sales manager at Wine Trends. Prior to that, he spent 6 years at Heidelberg Distributing.
