Just create a gedcom, create a Rootsweb account, and upload the gedcom. It uploads my 30,000 person database in under 3 minutes. You can make various presentation decisions yourself, like privacy (what age to use for privacy), or whether you want to allow notes to show; or not; , or allow visitors to download a gedcom, or not.
The visitor can select an individual and see an individual page, with sources, a pedigree chart, ahnentafel, descendant listing, or descendant register report for the selected person.
One of my WorldConnect databases is here:
http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=morriswha...
You can hit the WorldConnect home link at that page to setup your Rootsweb account to get started.
You can also choose to put up regular html pages with text about histories or whatever, at Rootsweb Freepages (or any other web site you choose) and link to your WorldConnect database.
BTW, Rootsweb started out by private individuals and and was later acquired, and is now part of, the Ancestry.com family. But, it does not require you to pay the ancestry.com subscription - it is free. It is not only free, but will last forever - past your death into internet eternity (whenever that is).
